PROGRAM GOAL: To ensure that residents of the community do not experience disease, adverse health effects or nuisances resulting from improperly or inadequately treated sewage.

PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY: The Board of Health is charged with the enforcement authority of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3701-29 and part 8 of the Regulations of the Board of Health of the Fayette County  Health District concerning the construction, installation and maintenance of individual sewage disposal systems serving 1, 2 and 3 family dwellings.

bulletIssuance of new replacement and alteration permits for home sewage disposal systems (HSDS).  Alteration permits are required for replacement of tanks, additional or new components, but not for replacement of sewer lines, tank risers, motors or pumps.

Site Evaluation - The health district evaluates all vacant properties that require a home sewage disposal system prior to building and existing house that require a new system. These evaluations determine the type and location of the sewage system. The application may be found below. The current property owner must sign the application.   After we receive the application and fee the evaluation takes approximately 2 weeks before the results are available.
